As a dynamic leader in the in-house community, Maggie has brought enthusiasm and vigor to the office of General Counsel. She was named a Top 10 30-Something by the Association of Corporate Counsel in 2020 for her accomplishments throughout her career.
She has an extensive background working in the technology industry as in-house counsel. Previously, she was VP, Assistant General Counsel for Vertafore. Prior to joining the team, she was Associate General Counsel with Clarivate Analytics and Thomson Reuters, where she was responsible for privacy and data security compliance, complex commercial transactions, labor and employment, business strategy and product development.
Maggie earned her juris doctorate cum laude from Western Michigan University and her undergraduate bachelor of the arts from the University of Colorado. She is licensed and a member of the bar association in Colorado, Michigan, and formerly Virginia.

1. What do you love most about your role at Vertafore?
Supporting a business that is creating cutting-edge technology for a piece of the largest industry in the United States! Every day there are new projects and initiatives for the company whether that means I get to support product development, finance or marketing. No day is the same as the one before!
2. How did you get into the InsurTech business?
I have spent my legal career serving software, content and technology providers across many industries, but Vertafore brought me into InsurTech back in 2017.
3. What are you most excited about for the future of InsurTech?
It’s truly exciting to be a leader at a company that is modernizing the digital experience for Carriers and Brokers, while in turn, modernizing the digital experience for insured people across the United States and Canada.
4. What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?
Anything where I get to be outside – gardening, hiking, skiing, walking my dogs, or relaxing on a picnic blanket with my family enjoying the Colorado sunshine!
5. I’m coming to visit you! What are your favorite/must-do things in your city?
There are so many great parks and outdoor recreation all around Denver to enjoy – we also have a great nightlife scene with live music, fabulous restaurants and breweries that are unique to Denver!
