I have a great passion for the value our broker partners bring to the insurance transaction and how leveraging technology can help them spend more human time on meaningful interactions, both internally and externally. Our job is to help them do just that.

Working in insurance since 1998, Stacey has held many positions on the insurance company side of the industry, including Insurance Agent, Sr. Underwriter, Client Relations Manager, and Business Development/Marketing Field Rep. for a Canadian Insurer.

Stacey moved to the technology side of the industry in 2008, serving first as Solution Consultant, Sales Manager and more recently Manager of Solution Strategy.

Stacey leverages her deep market knowledge to translate the needs of our broker and insurer partners into valuable business solutions.

Stacey’s 5 Fast Facts:

1. What do you love most about your role at Vertafore?

The people. It's a special thing to get to work with so many smart and talented people who truly care about the work they are doing and the value they contribute. We work hard and we have an amazing culture that reminds us to have fun and stay human along the way.

2. How did you get into the InsurTech business?

Fundamentally, I am a tech nerd at heart. When I was a Sr. Underwriter, the insurer I worked for was among the first to bring a broker portal to market and I was invited to serve as the first systems trainer for that solution. I officially moved to InsurTech full time in 2008. I speak tech and I speak insurance; it just made sense.

3. What are you most excited about for the future of InsurTech?

I am excited by the momentum in InsurTech right now. In Canada in particular, we are seeing the industry come together to solve problems more than ever before. Attitudes toward technology are changing. 10 years ago, we might have struggled in convincing someone to go paperless, whereas now, we are inundated with brokers asking for new solutions to facilitate their growth an excellent problem to have!

4. What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?

One of my favourite parts of my job is that I get to travel and spend facetime with our broker and industry partners. So for balance, on the weekend, I cherish my quiet time. Reading a book on the deck, movie night with my husband, or building something with my hands (furniture, small home reno, stained glass...anything non-screentime).

5. I’m coming to visit you! What are your favorite/must-do things in your city?

As a 5th generation Torontonian, I am biased but I do believe this is one of the best, most diverse cities in the world. You should take a gastronomical tour around the world by trying all of the amazing, locally owned restaurants from just about every ethnicity you can imagine. You should also check out High Park, Casa Loma, CN Tower, and take the ferry to Centre Island.
